CYCLONE EMERGENCY IN MAYOTTE

On Saturday 14 December, the island of Mayotte was hit by cyclone Chido. Never before in almost a century has the French department experienced a natural disaster on such a scale.
Acted is mobilising to meet the most urgent needs of the population, with the aim of providing 10,000 tents to shelter 50,000 people over the next few days.

How will your donation be used?

At Acted, we ensure that every donation has a significant and lasting impact. Your generosity enables us to intervene quickly and effectively in the areas most affected by humanitarian crises and environmental challenges.

Acted will allocate your donation according to the priorities identified.
Our interventions respond to the vital needs of affected populations, adapting to the challenges of each crisis to:

  • Respond to humanitarian emergencies, in particular: populations affected by conflicts, such as in the Middle East (e.g. supporting people in Gaza, Lebanon and Yemen), Africa (where we responded to the largest displacement crisis in Sudan, but also in Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo), the Americas (e.g. supporting displaced people and populations affected by violence from armed groups in Haiti) or communities hit by natural disasters, such as cyclone Chido in Mayotte.
  • Responding to the climate challenge: implementing innovative environmental projects and solutions to mitigate or adapt to climate change in the areas most affected.
  • Promoting sustainable development: supporting local communities in economic, social and ecological initiatives to reduce poverty, build lasting peace and ensure an inclusive and resilient future.


The impact of your support

Your donation also entitles you to a tax deduction

If you declare your taxes in France, your donations for Mayotte entitle you to a fiscal deduction of 75% up to €1,000, and 66% above that, up to a limit of 20% of taxable income in France. So when you donate €100 for Mayotte, the final cost of your donation is €25.

For other donations: a €100 donation costs you only €34 after a 66% tax deduction.

Once your donation has been registered, a tax receipt will be sent to you. It will enable you to benefit from this deduction.
